SUNSHINE PROJECT INTERNATIONAL IS A CHARITY FOUNDED
IN 1996 BY PEARL SMITH and Dr.AMR TAHA , SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE EGYPTIAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION , TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR CHILDREN IN EGYPT WITH NO FAMILY OF THEIR OWN .
Pearl established an orphanage in Luxor which she initially funded entirely with her own money. Happily, the cause has been taken up by many people in the UK including several Egyptology societies.Sadly Pearl died during the summer of 2004.
